HONOLULU – Hawaii Longshore Division workers on Oahu voted unanimously to ratify a tentative contract agreement reached on April 2.
Members at neighbor island ports began voting on the agreement earlier this week. With the Oahu vote, members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) unanimously approved the new 5-year agreement that will expire on July 1, 2019.
The new agreement provides approximately 1,000 good-paying jobs statewide. The contract will improve wages, maintain excellent health benefits and job safety protections, and increase pensions for past and future retirees.
