1An ILWU Longshore Retiree Club is now being formed!

The club was officially started in November by three retired longshoremen, who wanted to reconnect with retired longshore brothers and sisters and get involved with Hawaii Longshore Division.

Officers for the new club are: Don Muraco, chair; Mike Hansen, vice chair; Dave Anderson, secretary; and James Brooks, treasurer.

The club is still in its formative stage and welcomes new members to participate and help to shape the purpose and direction of the club. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the ILWU headquarters on Atkinson Drive.

For more information, call Hawaii Longshore Division at 949-4161 and leave a message for one of the Retiree Club officers to call you back. The club also wants to develop a telephone list to keep in touch.

The Hawaii Division pension clubs meet quarterly for their Pension Club Council meeting. Each club (except Kona) takes turns hosting the meeting that begins at 10:00 on a Saturday or Sunday. The host pension club decides on the meeting date and provides lunch for the attendees. Bus/Van transportation is provided and is arranged by the Council President (Fred Galdones).
