Candidate for Business Agent
William “Bill” Drury

What’s important to me, Bill Drury, is Family and Union. Back when I was a bartender at the Westin Hotel, I took for granted the 100% paid medical coverage, and decent pay in the ILWU contract. But over the years I learned these benefits are constantly threatened, so I decided to get involved for my family’s sake. I have been married to my wife Marie Bayudan-Drury (born in San Nicolas, Illocos Norte) for 7 years with 2 beautiful daughters, Brittney and Caitlan. We live in between the pineapple fields in Haiku.

I’ve been a proud member of ILWU for 16 years serving as Westin Unit Chair, Statewide Hotel Negotiating Committee Chair and Westin bargaining committee Chair in 1996 and 1998.

In 2001, I was appointed Business Agent, servicing tourism and general trades units; while also negotiating contracts with 10% wage increases and no take-aways in medical at the Outrigger Hotel, Automotive with Island Dodge Honda, and assisted
Division Director Willie Kennison with negotiations at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort.

Our union faces many challenges. I’m ready to continue fighting for our members to protect medical coverage and improve job security. I humbly ask for your vote.
