Business Agent Candidate
Roberto “Bobby” Andrion Jr.

Business Agent Candidate
Joseph “Joe” Aquino

Aloha Brothers and Sisters, My name is Joseph Aquino, I’m a millwright at HC&S and I’m running for Business Agent, Maui Division. Originally from Molokai, I’m no stranger to the union. My mother was a member while working at the Sheraton Molokai and a shop Steward. I was in the 5th grade back then, but I remember her talking to family and friends about their rights and responsibilities as a BU member. I’ve also witnessed a strike at the hotel and watch the members stand up for their rights of better pay, benefits and safe working conditions.

I believe in the union and what it stands for. Some may have doubts, but remember this, without you this union cannot exist. Let’s work together in bringing that confidence and strength back into our working areas’.

I was an Editor for my unit. In 2013 I received the “best editor” award for Maui and a runner up in 2014. I was in charge of new membership and workers’ compensation. I sat in as a temporary BA and a member of the bargaining team. I was also an active participant with our PAC. I humbly ask for your support and vote.

Business Agent Candidate
Jerrybeth (JB) De Mello

It has been a pleasure in serving you as Maui Division Business Agent for the last elected 8 terms. The next 3 years will emphasize on educate, continuous training for upcoming leaders, in our membership as my moto “today we follow and tomorrow we lead.” There can be no greater urgency then too maneuver our union to better meet the challenges that is before us.

I need to say a sincere mahalo to all of our unit officers/stewards for their thankless time and dedication in assisting their fellow members through difficult hardships with changes of ownerships, landowners, managerial companies that is hard of an adjustment for everyone. Most members wondering if their jobs, benefits are secure in this sporadic time.

I’ll repeat this as many times, the “ILWU banner has always been branded in my family for four (4) generations from Pineapple Plantation to Tourism. I emphasize to my love ones that almost everything we purchase is bought with hard earned-union wages. They know without the union, we could not enjoy a better opportunity and future.” This is one of my greatest teaching not too lose sight of.
