Business Agent Candidate
DILLON M. HULLINGER
Let me first begin by thanking you for your continued support. It's been an honor to serve you as your Oahu Division Director for the past 9 years. Like me, I know you believe that the rank and file is the bloodline of the ILWU Local 142. I have been an ILWU Local 142 member for 25 years, and served in the capacities of Shop Steward, Unit Secretary, Unit Editor, Business Agent, Local Representative and Oahu Division Director.
As your Oahu Division Director, I will continue to lead us forward, stronger, and more unified. With education, transparency, and teamwork, I will continue to build the Oahu Division to protect your rights.
As work environments constantly evolve, your Union Representatives must be respected by employers and successfully negotiate with them, while always being mindful of the rank and file's issues. I have established constructive relationships with employers, which has led to the negotiation of favorable contracts and positive outcomes for displaced members from multiple industries.
I humbly ask you again to support me, Mike Yamaguchi, for Oahu Division Director. Together, we will continue to grow the ILWU Local 142's proud legacy.
In solidarity! Stay healthy and safe.
Mike Yamaguchi
Dear ILWU Local 142 members,
My name is Dural Duenas, and I am running for re-election as an Oahu Division Business Agent.
In 2006, I was hired at Servco, Unit 4412, as a lot attendant and through hard work, dedication, and training, I became a lead technician. I've been a member in good standing for fifteen years; the last four of those years, I got involved by becoming a shop steward, unit secretary, and participated in my first negotiation.
After the 2018 Local Convention, I applied my technical skills in a different way. I came out as a temporary business agent and gained knowledge, experience, and a whole new perspective: from being represented as a member, to representing the members. In 2019, I was appointed as business agent and continued on in administering, enforcing and, negotiating contracts, grievance handling, and most importantly, representing and servicing the members, all through this pandemic time.
There's still a long road ahead and with our current experienced leadership, we can continue to get through this pandemic and into a more positive and brighter future for you, our membership, and I humbly ask for your vote and support to continue to be your Business Agent.
It has been both an honor and a privilege to serve as your Oahu Division Business Agent for the past 9 years. I've shown I can get the job done! My leadership speaks for itself. I've unified our membership by listening to the needs of all our members, enforcing our contracts, organized new members, and lead the fight to protect all working families. As an experienced union leader I have an unwavering commitment to build our union, the confidence to stand alone, and the courage to make tough decisions. With that being said I humbly ask for your vote to re-elect me Paris Fernandez as your Oahu Division Business Agent. Aloha
My name is Dillon Hullinger and I am running for re-election as a Business Agent for the Oahu Division. I have been an ILWU member for 32 year's; during that time I served the Foodland unit as a steward, a unit vice chair, and unit Chair. For the past 11 years I have served as a business agent
representing numerous different units and members.
During these 11 years as a business agent I have gained experience in negotiations, contract enforcement, grievance handling, and membership servicing. I have represented a vast array of units and this has given me the experience and knowledge to solve problems, issues, and concerns of the members who greatly differ from one unit to another.
I believe it is important to have experience and knowledge when guiding the young members and future leaders of this union. The best way to guide them moving forward is to share the experiences and knowledge that we have gained. This allows them to take control and solve problems at their unit and work site.
I humbly ask for your support to allow me to continue to service your units and represent the membership of Oahu Division as a Business Agent.
