Division Director Candidate
Dave K. Mori
Division Director Candidate
Michael S. Yamaguchi
I humbly thank you for your support. It is an honor to serve you, and I stand ready and eager to work hard as Oahu Division Director.
Like me, I know you believe that the rank and file is the bloodline of ILWU. I have been a member of the Honolulu Advertiser since 1996, and served as Shop Steward, Unit Secretary, Unit Editor, Business Agent, and Local Representative.
Our Director must be committed to ILWU’s history, and have the vision to lead us forward, stronger and more unified. With transparency and teamwork, I will build the Division, be accessible, and protect your rights.
As work environments evolve, our Director must be respected by employers and successfully negotiate with them, always being mindful of our members. I have established constructive relationships with employers, which has led to the negotiation of favorable contracts and positive outcomes for displaced members from a number of companies.
My experience as Honolulu Liquor Commission Chair and Honolulu Fire Commission Vice-Chair further enhances my leadership skills, which I will use to move ILWU forward.
I humbly ask you to support me, Mike Yamaguchi, for Oahu Division Director. Together, we will continue to grow ILWU’s proud legacy.

Shane A. Ambrose
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Aloha, my name is Shane Ambrose. It is With great pride and a strong commitment to service that am seeking your support once again for the position of Business Agent, Oahu Division.
I strongly believe as the technology moves forward, we must as a Division forge ahead to meet its challenges. The use of the computer and the Internet will be essential to improving regular means of communications with the members. This valuable and versatile resource will help to educate the members and help reduce the administrative burdens that leave us less time to engage with you, the member, personally.
During the convention, I helped author a resolution which passed on the convention floor to explore the use of Social Media by Local 142. With your support we can bring our Division up to date with the newest, most efficient form of communications to add to what we already do to keep you informed.
Once again, I will continue to uphold and protect the principles and values that help guide this great Union by utilizing the latest technology to meet the needs of the membership Mahalo!

Business Agent Candidate
Wilfred “Wil” Chang
I first became a member in December 2006. The following year, I was elected unit chair at Waikele Golf. I served the membership to the best of my abilities all while we endured a change in ownership in 2009-2010. These trying times, we had to recycle cans just so we could buy gasoline for equipment. This taught all of us the importance of being a part of the ILWU. The Division Executive Board meetings served as an instructional guide to solving these kinds of problems. I have been active in educational classes and the events provided by the Local. I fully intend to encourage other members to participate.
In 2010, I became a member of the Oahu Division Political Action Committee. In March 2012, I became the Oahu Division Political Action Co-Coordinator. I have worked closely with ILWU Local 142 endorsed candidates and our membership and would like to take that experience and share with the membership how important political action is in helping the working families of Hawaii.
I have the work ethic, skills and ideas to serve you well. I humbly ask for your vote, so we can achieve our goals in Solidarity.
Business Agent Candidate
Paris E. J. Fernandez
I have dedicated 15 years working on vehicles. Now it’s time for me to work for you, the rank and file of our union. My name is Paris Fernandez and I ask for your vote to elect me as your Business Agent for ILWU.
I have been a member of the ILWU Local 142 (unit-4410) for 15 years. I graduated from the ASSET program in 1998, as an apprentice mechanic. I quickly worked my way up to journeyman in 2002. I have devoted the last 4 years serving as a shop steward, secretary, and vice chair at Honolulu Ford.
I recently had the privilege to serve as a temporary Business Agent servicing other units, drafting reports, and following up with members. This experience ignited my passion to become a stronger representative for you. I’ll work diligently to represent our members, stewards, officers, and employers to resolve any issues that may arise by utilizing my strong leadership, management, and negotiation skills.
I believe with Integrity, Loyalty, Will, and Unity, I am the best person to represent you as your ILWU Oahu Division Business Agent. My commitment is to serve you and it will be an honor to do so.
Business Agent Candidate
Dillon M. Hullinger
My name is Dillon Hullinger I have been an ILWU member for 23 years working for Foodland Supermarket. During my time in the unit I was a Steward, a unit Vice Chair, and for 9 years I served as the Unit Chair. I served on the Foodland’s state wide negotiating committee since 1997 and was the negotiation committee chair for the last 3 negotiations. I have attended numerous International Conventions and Local Conventions.
Most recently in 2010 I was appointed as a Business Agent, I have learned and experienced a lot of new things in this position from negotiating contracts to representing and servicing the membership. I think the best way to get people involved in the Union is by sharing what you have learned to give the membership more knowledge and understanding.
I would like to thank everyone at the units and members who tough me new things in this position and would like to continue to gain new knowledge and experiences and pass it on to the up and coming future leaders of the units and our Union.
I ask for your support in allowing me to serve your units and the membership of this Union again.
