Step Three:

Company Anti-Union Campaign Begins

Once the company becomes aware that the workers are interested in joining a Union, they will go to great lengths to persuade the workers to vote against it.

They will:

  • hire expensive law firms and consulting firms to teach them ways to convince the workers to vote against having a Union.
  • often have parties, picnics or luncheons in order to win the approval of workers.
  • pit one worker against another in order to divide the work force.

Another tactic is to have the management team ask for second chances at the last meeting.

Why do they do this? The answer is simple: the company wants total control and they know that when workers have a union, workers have a say in the workplace.
