Maui Division's membership also includes the members on the islands of Molokai and Lanai. This Division has the largest membership, since the ma- jority of Maui's larger units are the island's major hotels. A large portion of Maui's membership used to come from sugar. Sugar did not last as a viable industry for Hawaii's economy, and the state's last sugar plantation, Maui's Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company (HC&S) closed in 2016.
Now, most of Maui's ILWU members work in the tourism industry. The Grand Wailea Resort is the largest employer, followed by Hyatt Maui and the Westin Maui.
The Maui Division main office is in Wailuku at 896 Lower Main Street. The Division also has an office in Lahaina at 840 Wainee St. Unit H4 & H5 and on Lanai at 840 Ilima Avenue.
