Local President Candidate
Isaac Fiesta Jr.

Brothers and Sisters,
I am Isaac Fiesta, Jr. I was raised in the small plantation town of Honomu, where I continue to live with my wife and family. In September 1968, I started at Pepeekeo Sugar Company, as a knapsack sprayer ending as garage purchasing clerk.

I am a member in good standing for over 40 years serving as a chief steward, a union safety representative, and Steward Council Chair. In Apri1 1991, Brother Bo Lapenia appointed me as a Hawaii Division Business Agent. The various units I faithfully worked with are: hotels, general trades, supermarkets, healthcare, longshore, and agriculture.

I will strive to preserve wages and benefits under our collective bargaining agreements and humbly ask for your support. If elected, I commit to working with the LEB, LEC, and the Divisions to strengthen our union.

I served on the Hawaii County Planning Commission for five years and the State Land Use Commission for eight years.

My experiences includes 18 years as Business Agent, administrative, PAC, mobilizing, organizing, representing members for workman compensation claims and unemployment hearings, and negotiating first time and re-opening contracts. Organizing is the blood life of our union.

In solidarity, Issac Fiesta, Jr.

ALOHA, AS THE GRANDCHILD OF PORTUGUESE AND FILIPINO IMMIGRANTS, AND A CHILD OF VERY ACTIVE UNION PINEAPPLE AND HOTEL WORKERS, MY ROOTS ARE DEEPLY EMBEDDED IN THIS UNION.

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT A GOOD LEADER WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT HE IS A SERVANT, CURRENTLY, I AM SERVING AS THE CHAIRMAN AT THE GRAND WAILEA HOTEL, AND SERVING AS THE DIVISION PAC CHAIR. I HAVE SERVED AS NEGOTIATIONS CHAIRMAN FOR THE LAST TWO NEGOTIATIONS AT THE GRAND WAILEA. AND NOW I AM ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN INTERNAL ORGANIZING. I BELIEVE THAT IF WE CAN GET BETTER, WE WILL GET BIGGER.

I BELIEVE THAT TOGETHER WE CAN RESTORE THIS UNION TO THE STATUS OF BECOMING THE SOCIAL CONSCIENCE OF THE LABOR MOVEMENT. WE CAN DO THIS BY BUILDING A SOLID RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR COMMUNITY, WE CAN DO THIS BY EDUCATING OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES OF OUR GREAT HISTORY, AND BECOME MORE ACTIVE IN COMMUNITY ISSUES. I BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD DO AS OUR FOREFATHERS DID BEFORE US, EDUCATE AND MOTIVATE!

MY FATHER TAUGHT ME TO BELIEVE IN THREE THINGS, I BELIEVE IN GOD, I BELIEVE IN MY FAMILY, AND I BELIEVE IN OUR UNION! I HUMBLY ASK YOUR SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT
