Local 142 Election Results for next triennium

HONOLULU — Union-wide elections held in November 2021 elected 28 full-time officers, 12 members to the Local Executive Board, and 11 delegates to the International Convention. Election results were announced on December 15, 2021.
Titled Officers The seats of Local President and Local Secretary-Treasurer will be seeing new faces.
Longshore Oahu member Christian West won the race for Local President, and Longshore Maui member Michael Victorino, Jr. was newly elected to the role of Local Secretary-Treasurer.

On October 11th, ILWU President Willie Adams received a call that he won't soon forget: "First thing in the morning on Indigenous Peoples' Day, I received a call from Biden Administration Port Envoy John Porcari on behalf of the President asking if I could fly to Washington and join him for a meeting with the White House," President Adams recalled. "My response was yes.'

First-ever virtual Local Convention determines policies, programs and budget for next three years

The Local Convention is the highest governing body of the ILWU Local 142. In the face of the unpredictable coronavirus, the Local worked hard to transition this year's 29th Convention from a large- scale in-person event to a virtual one held on members' respective islands to ensure the safety of all.

Resolutions highlight resilience of membership and union values

The 29th Convention adopted 18 Resolutions which define the policy of the union on certain critical issues or express the sentiment of the delegation.
